Our production line is a symphony of AI-assisted design and manual finesse. Each log undergoes a transformation that ensures durability, aesthetic appeal, and structural integrity.
1. Sustainable Log Sourcing
We select premium timber including Oak, Walnut, and Ash. Each log is inspected for grain consistency and moisture content before entering the facility.
2. Precision Kiln Drying
Using AI-controlled drying kilns, we reduce moisture to 8-12%, preventing future warping or cracking. This is the foundation of furniture longevity.
3. Digital Material Prep
Logs are sawn into planks. Our technicians use laser scanning to identify defects, ensuring only the highest grade of wood moves to the assembly phase.
4. CNC Machining
High-precision CNC routers carve intricate designs and create perfect joinery slots with sub-millimeter accuracy, blending tech with wood.
5. Traditional Joinery
Despite our tech, we rely on Mortise and Tenon joints. This "glue-less" strength ensures the furniture stays sturdy for generations.
6. Multi-Stage Sanding
A 5-step sanding process (from 80 to 600 grit) creates a surface as smooth as silk, preparing the wood for eco-friendly finishing.
The Science of Timber Selection
The journey begins with the selection of raw materials. At Shandong DIMEI, we believe that the finished product is only as good as the log it came from. We source wood from sustainably managed forests. Our R&D team analyzes the cellular structure of different species to match them with specific furniture designs.
For instance, North American White Oak is preferred for its density and beautiful grain, making it ideal for dining tables, while Black Walnut is chosen for high-end executive desks due to its rich color and stability. This phase involves rigorous quality checks where logs are graded based on diameter, straightness, and the absence of knots.
Kiln Drying & Stress Relief
Raw wood is "alive" and contains significant moisture. If not treated, the furniture will shrink or expand. Our automated kiln-drying system uses sensors to monitor humidity levels in real-time. The process takes weeks, slowly removing water while relieving the internal stresses of the wood fiber.
After drying, the wood is "conditioned" in a temperature-controlled warehouse to acclimatize to the environment. This ensures that when a piece of DIMEI furniture reaches a customer in a different climate, it remains perfectly stable.

The Art of Surface Finishing

The finishing process involves multiple layers: a base coat for grain sealing, sanding, a color coat for depth, and a top-wear coat for protection.
Each layer is applied in a dust-free environment. Between coats, our craftsmen perform "hand-rubbing" to enhance the natural texture of the wood grain, giving it a three-dimensional look that machine-only finishing lacks.
Final Inspection & Global Logistics
Quality control is integrated into every step, not just the end. However, the final inspection is the most rigorous. Our inspection team checks for grain matching, joint strength, finish consistency, and hardware functionality. Only after passing a 50-point checklist does a product receive the DIMEI Seal of Quality.
